About the Friends of the Guffey Library
Guffey is a tiny Colorado mountain town that cares enough to support a library. At last count, the town's population was about 35, with about 1200 in the surrounding area. The Guffey Library is a branch of the Park County Public Libraries. Learn more about the history of the Guffey Library.

The Friends of the Guffey Library was organized in August of 1998, and is now a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

        Our purpose is:
        1. Increasing public knowledge and support of the library.
        2. Providing public awareness of library programs.
        3. Participating in public relations in support of the library.
        4. Providing financial support beyond the library's budget.
        5. Providing volunteer groups in support of designated library tasks.

We work closely with the Friends of the Park County Libraries and the librarian.

This past year, with the help of a bequest, a donation of land, grants, fundraisers, individual donations, and volunteer help on all sides, the Friends of the Guffey Library have nearly completed a building project that adds a 24' by 24' addition to our building.
